Bass Pale Ale Style:  Pale Ale

Bell’s Bourbon Barrel “Hell Hath No Fury”
Style: Barrel Aged Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Kalamazoo, MI            11% ABV        9 oz snifter glass
VERY RARE BEER!! Ours is the only keg in Ohio!
Strong notes of Kentucky bourbon with coffee malts.  Thick and delicious!
$7  (sorry…no pitchers or happy hour price)

Bell’s “Hopslam” Style: Imperial IPA
Kalamazoo, MI            10% ABV        12 oz tulip glass            Pairs with spicy food
Limited release beer.  Our keg is one of few available in the area.
Hoppy, floral, awesome (especially for self-proclaimed “hop heads”).
$5 (sorry, no pitchers)

Bell’s “Lager of the Lakes” Style: American Lager
Kalamazoo, MI            4.6 % ABV      Pairs with almost any food
Filtered, clean tasting lager.  Cool and refreshing.  Excellent choice for lager drinkers      $4.5 / 10

Goose Island “Mild Winter Ale” Style: Red Rye Ale
Chicago, IL                  5.6 % ABV                  Pairs with almost any food
Smooth, crisp yet mildly spicy ale that has a slight hop aroma     $4.5 / 10

Flying Dog “Snake Dog” Style: Imperial IPA
Frederick, MD             7.1% ABV       Pint glass/ 16 oz            Pairs well with spicy food
This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers.           $4.5 / 10

Hoegaarden Original White Ale Style: Unfiltered Belgian white ale
Hoegaarden, Belgium                5.0% ABV       pint glass/ 16 oz          
Pairs well with any food, especially salad. 
Unfiltered, flavored with coriander and orange peel         $4.50 / 10

Magic Hat “#9” Style: Fruit Beer
Burlington, VT. 4.6% ABV       Pint glass/ 16 oz           
Pairs well with any food, especially salad. 
A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. Hints of apricot flavor.           $4.5 / 10

Reissdorf Kölsch Style: Kölsch (lagered ale brewed only within the city limits of Koln, Germany)
Köln, Germany 4.8% ABV       Pint glass/ 16 oz            Pairs well with any food
Very light lager style beer.  Golden color with slight grassy nose, good transition from “Bud Light”

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Chico, CA        5.6% ABV       Pint glass/ 16 oz      
Pairs well salad, Deluxe, Enlightenment
Deep amber color, fragrant bouquet and slightly spicy flavor      $4.5 / 10

Rogue Mocha Porter Style: American Porter
Newport, OR   5.3% ABV       Pint glass/ 16 oz           
Pairs well Brie, Mellow Goat, Tiramisu
Ruddy brown in color, a bittersweet balance of malt and hops with a light cream finish.

Unibroue “La Terrible” Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Quebec, Ontario           10.5% ABV     12 oz tulip glass            Pairs well Gorgonzilla, Chipotle Chix
La Terrible has a dark brown color topped with a rich foam mousse. Slightly sweet taste is enhanced by accents of roasted malt, cocoa, ripe fruit and dark spices with a smooth finish like an old port

Spinoza’s next beer dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7:00 pm.  Beer expert Lee Hill from Sierra Nevada Brewery (Chico, California) will be on hand to talk about craft brewing and the unique Sierra Nevada beers featured that evening.  This is a reservation-only event. Our Bell’s beer dinner last month sold out quickly so please call 937-426-7799 or email reservations to dine@spinozas.com.  Cost is $24.95 per person plus tax & gratuity.  Four-course dinner and six (6) different Sierra Nevada beers are included.  Vegetarian options will be available.
